Overlooking the night scenery of Singapore central business district, NUS Business School Alumni Hong Kong Night was held at the prestigious and classy Tower Club, Singapore on Friday 7 December 2007. An evening of interaction between Hong Kong expatriates and NUS Business School Alumni, the event saw an attendance of 66 guests. The event was graced by Director of Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office, Mr Lam Kam Kwong, who shared in his opening speech how the alumni can leverage on Hong Kong position as the gateway into China. "Singapore is a regular trading partner with Hong Kong and like Singapore, Hong Kong is also booming because of China. She is going to remain a competitive and major trading centre in the world. I am sure Singapore and Hong Kong will do well like 'Twin Brothers'". Following Mr Lam was Vice President NUS Business School Alumni Association, Mr Benny Lee who mentioned that NUS is building global bridges, and the event is a perfect example of it. He also said that NUS Business School Alumni has a new board of committee that will be focusing on becoming the voice in the business community. He ended off his speech calling out for alumni members to come onboard and take on leadership positions in the committee. Guests were mostly made up of graduates from Chinese University of Hong Kong Alumni Association, Hong Kong University Alumni Association, Hong Kong Polytechnic University (Singapore) Association, Hong Kong Singapore Business Association, and NUS Business School Alumni Association. During the dinner, guests were entertained by special performances - a hip hop dance performance by special children dance group Drtiste and Cantonese opera performance by Kreta Ayer CC Cantonese Opera Troupe which drew loud applause from an appreciative audience.
