|
More than 40 alumni, together with distinguished guests, Prof Kulwant Singh, Dean of NUS Business School, and A/P Quek Ser Aik, Vice-Dean of NUS Business School celebrated the Lunar New Year at the Macau Restaurant on 16 February 2008.
Organized by the Mandarin Alumni, the "tuan bai" lunch was in full festivity as Prof Singh wished all who were present "Gong Xi Fa Cai" in mandarin. As part of tradition, the lunch kicked off with the tossing of "yu sheng", signifying abundant wealth and long life.
Dr William Chung (Executive Education) Deputy Treasurer generously donated 12 prizes for the lucky draw, much to the delight of the winners.
To complete the event, the famous local master geomancer, Mr Tung Noong Chin shared with the crowd his insights of luck and fortune in the Year of the Rat.
Nobody went home empty-handed as each was presented with two mandarin oranges and wishes for a happy and prosperous year ahead!
