Asia Global Strategy Forum cum Eastern China Alumni Network Installation Ceremony

NUS Business School Eastern China Alumni Network (ECAN) launches with an Asia Global Strategy Forum featuring top business leaders in Shanghai.

The Asia Global Strategy Forum was held on 12 April 2008 in Shanghai in conjunction with the installation ceremony of NUS Business School Eastern China Alumni Network (ECAN).

The event was co-organized by NUS Business School, NUS Business School Eastern China Alumni Network and Contact Singapore.

The powerhouse forum featured distinguished personalities Mr Yip Wei Kiat, Consul-General of Singapore Consulate-General in Shanghai; Professor Kulwant Singh, Interim Dean of NUS Business School; and NUS BBA alumna Ms Leong Wai Leng (BBA 1988), Chairman of OCBC Bank (China) Limited.

More than 200 alumni and members of the public attended the forum. Presentations during the forum focused on the challenges and opportunities for foreign firms in China, human resource issues in Singapore, and key strategic challenges regional firms have to overcome to succeed today.

In the evening, over 100 alumni witnessed the ECAN installation ceremony chaired by alumni Mr Zhou Bin (APEX-C MBA 2001) and Ms Josephine Tan (BBA 1991).

At the ceremony, ECAN Secretary-General Ms Sophia Luan (APEX-C MBA 2003) reported on the work of ECAN and said more activities would be organized to strengthen the ties among the alumni in Eastern China.

Prof Singh presented appointment letters to the Advisory Board of ECAN headed by Mr Francis Yuen (BBA 1981, MBA 1992).

About 20 elected members of the Executive Committee were also recognized for their contributions and services rendered to the school.
