The NUS Business School Global Alumni Network Office (GANO) played host to over 20 distinguished guests at a networking lunch on 7 May 2008. Held at the ST Lee Atrium of NUS Museum, guests consisted of faculty and senior BBA Alumni.
Professor Kulwant Singh, Interim Dean of NUS Business School gave a short presentation on the progress of the School through the years and its various programs. It was a timely update for the alumni, many of whom were clearly impressed by the quality of students being produced.
Prof Singh also introduced the incoming Dean, Professor Bernard Yeung who would take up his appointment in July 2008. Having just arrived in Singapore from America six hours earlier, Prof Yeung expressed his excitement in joining NUS and the prospect of working with the alumni to bring the Business School to greater heights.
Prior to lunch, guests were also treated to a guided tour where they viewed the Lee Kong Chian collection of over 200 objects on display at the museum.
Alumna Ms Kuah Sok Khim (BBA 1993) commented, "I'm very impressed with the whole set-up. I think it's a very good idea for such events. It gives us all a chance to network and find out what other alumni think, and also to really catch up on what's happening at the Business School."
Mr Andrew Chua (BBA 1976), who was attending such an event for a second time, added, "I'm very supportive of such events as it gives us a chance to catch up with old classmates and share ideas. This also offers a straightforward channel for us to direct our feedback on various issues affecting the Business School."
