Adding Spice to Friendship

MBA alumni and current students from NUS Business School gathered informally for Northern Indian delights on 7 June 2008 at the newly opened Chili Code Restaurant at 140 Arab Street, opposite Golden Landmark Hotel in Singapore.

Playing hosts that evening were MBA alumni Ms Anuprita Bhomick (MBA 2003) and her husband, Mr Kushal Bhomick (MBA 2003). Both had decided to venture into food and beverage and set up Chili Code together with two other relatives.

While moving from table to table to recommend dishes to former classmates and new friends, Ms Bhomick shared: “We frequently organize informal gatherings like these during the weekends so that we are able to catch up with the other alumni amidst our busy schedule.”

Ms Madelene Lee (MBA 2003), Assistant Vice-President at NETs Singapore Pte Ltd enthused: ‘’The company and food are great. This is a great place to chill out.”

Mr Mitesh Patel (MBA 2003) shared the same sentiments. “An excellent combination of people and food! Not to mention the excellent service,” said the Consulting Manager at Worley Parsons Pte Ltd pointing to Ms Bhomick.

Ms Bhomick was happy to receive many compliments from the alumni and friends. She credited the MBA program for further developing her penchant for business, giving her greater clarity where it came to designing the philosophy of her restaurant.

“Chili Code believes that the moment a customer steps into the restaurant, a conversation between the restaurant and customer begins and it continues till the customer leaves – hence the restaurant tagline ‘Kababs, Curries, Conversations’,” said Ms Bhomick.

“It is a very welcoming place and there were many familiar faces. I am looking forward to the next gathering here,” said Ms Radhika Zingade (MBA 2007), Management Associate at OCBC Bank.

“We are certainly looking forward to welcoming the alumni and friends at the restaurant, and will be organizing another gathering very soon!” said Mr Bhomick.
