Job Description:
Responsibilities:
Plan, direct, monitor and implement policies in all aspects of bus services, depot and interchange operations to achieve targets and ensure the highest level of productivity and operational efficiency.
Work Location : North
-Decision Making Authority
Liaise with relevant authorities on issues that have an impact on bus operations.
Formulate and review depot’s operational policies and procedures.
Perform the command and control functions to ensure smooth bus operations.
-Appraise performance of staff.
Recommend appropriate disciplinary actions against errant SLs.
Nominate outstanding SLs for promotions/awards.
Approve payment of invoices and staff expenses claims within authorised limits.
Decisions on day-to-day operations of the department.
-Financial
Prepare yearly budget for the depot.
Analyze financial and accounting information on SMG operations and implement measures to ensure optimal usage of resources.
Monitor revenue and taking corrective actions to ensure optimum revenue collections
-Operations
Look into operational requirements (eg. drivers and fleet matching).
Ensure that the bus services are operated smoothly and efficiently.
Ensure the provision of excellent services such as clean and courteous bus services.
-Manpower Management
Investigate public complaints on the conduct of drivers and ensure that all complaints are speedily dealt with.
Take disciplinary actions against errant drivers and SMG staff for violating company rules and regulations and prevent recurrences.
Carry out accident investigations and conduct inquiries for serious accidents.
Monitor and sustain bus and road safety programs (such as Safe Driving Supervisor Scheme and Accident-Free Award) and to work out and implement measures to reduce accident rates
-General Depot Management
Implement policy decisions, operational procedures and instructions and to ensure continual compliance.
Review present work procedures and seek ways to improve the efficiency.
Ensure the smooth implementation of projects and programs (eg. EIFS, DS, IBOS, VLS, new bus services).
Ensure that all targets set on depot and interchanges operational matters are achieved.
Handle matters relating to depot’s maintenance/repairs of the structure, ground and equipment.
Submit depot statistics and reports with corrective measures taken.
Ensure that bus advertisement panels are properly fixed up and maintained
-HR/Administrative Function
Ensure fair distribution and better utilization of human resources.
Instill and promote 5S among SLs and depot staff.
Instill and promote team spirit among SLs, depot staff to increase productivity through productivity-related activities (e.g. iQC, ESS, etc).
Organize induction course and on-job-training program for new SLs.
Recommend training needs for SLs and depot staff.
Hold regular dialogue/counseling sessions with SLs to educate them and also to promote close labour-management relations.
Provide support to public relations activities (such as filming, interviews, etc.)
Conflict resolution and improve morale and maintain good staff and labour relations within/outside the department.
Undertake any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Requirements:
You should be a Degree with at least 6 years of working experience in a managerial role.
You should be effectively bilingual and proficient in MS Office.
You should be able to interact well with all levels of staff and possess good interpersonal and writing skills.
Able to speak dialects would be an advantage.
